DASAKOM 90

STANZA 1

                                  DASAKAM 90
                                    —————
Stanza 1
Your form,  that wins over that of any other God,
is shown in the stories of Vrika, Bhrigu, and Ambareesha,
and is beyond sight, and what remains
afterwards is also You and Yourself alone.
Stanza 2 is said that the threefold Universal Self is composed    of the three bodies,
iswara, and , and
the supreme Being is sadashiva himself, Iswara is  You, a beautiful residing
in Vaikuntam, and You assume three bodies, in threefold Sathyalokam.
Stanza 300Among them the form of all
        goodness is called Vishnu,a
that of activities, with a little of good, is Brahma,
that of inertia, with some good,  is called Shiva.
Stanza 4
There the form, during worship,
is that of Shiva, due to His being all existing things,
but that too is Yours, for which,
           we have sufficient evidence.
Stanza 5
Sankaracharya, who is not biased, considered You as
beyond the three bodies, wrote commentaries on Sahasranaama  etc.
as referring to You, and in the end,
          praising You, became liberated.
Stanza 6
He mentioned You, in the beginning  of
              Mantrashaastram, the book of hymns,
as clove-coloured Lord of all,
             and for contemplation of
the disembodied Self,
              You and You alone.
Stanza 7
In the Puranas, which contain all that is known in the world,
Your greatness is mentioned as above
that of the three worlds,
            not of Lord Shiva.
Stanza 8
The Form shown to Brahma, in the second book of Bhaagavatham,
and the names in the Sahasranama, are Vishnu, Shiva etc.,
as said by  Sri Madhava, although devoted to Shiva,
           in his book, PURAANASAARAM.
STANZA 9
Those who worship Shiva, according to their nature,
get the results, because of their faith,
and Vyasa wrote many derogatory things,
to suit the taste, and everybody.
Stanza 10
The description of the real past, exaggeration, and declaration of the opposite,
are used by Vyasa, in order to make the reading   interesting ,
In   Skaandapurana etc. and we worship You,
praised by Vyasa, on several occasions.
Stanza 11
Whatever is said here, is all seen praised
                by Bhaagavatham,
in Mantrasaashthra, the book of hymns,
kindly save me from all diseases, my Lord!.
